Mkuki na Nyota Publishers Ltd. (MNP) is a book publishing company based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Established in 1991, Mkuki na Nyota Publishers emerged in response to the general absence of high quality, independent publishing in Tanzania. Concentrating initially on academic books and general titles, Mkuki na Nyota Publishers have developed a diverse list of titles, ranging from fiction to social sciences, children’s books to high quality art books.We are committed to encouraging and developing a culture of reading in Tanzania, as well as nurturing indigenous literature as a method of preserving and sharing stories.We are proud to publish relevant, beautiful, and affordable books, and place them in the hands of passionate readers within Tanzania and around the world.
